The Team

Dr Daniele Turi, Director & Co-Founder, is responsible for the development of the core technologies. He is a former Marie Curie Fellow and holds a doctorate in theoretical computer science from the Free University, Amsterdam. He has worked on the research and development of semantic web technologies at the University of Manchester.

Eleanor Ford, Director & Co-Founder, is responsible for project management, marketing, fund-raising and the creation and development of a strong network of strategic partners. Previously an anthropologist and filmmaker she was selected by NESTA as part of the Creative Pioneer Programme. Eleanor won the Silver Award at the 2007 British Female Inventor and Innovator of the Year Awards and was a finalist in the Blackberry Women & Technology Awards 2008.

Professor Gordon Plotkin, Director of Research, is a Professor of Theoretical Computer Science in the School of Informatics at The University of Edinburgh and was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society in 1992. He is universally recognised as a world leader in theoretical computer science and is the designer of the recommender system for LikeCube.

Ismael Juma, Chief Software Architect & Developer, has previously worked in the PsyGrid CoCoA data collection application. He is a core developer in the RSSOwl2 Eclipse RCP-based RSS Client and a committer in the Java-Gnome project. He holds a first class BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Manchester.

Dr Oscar Corcho, Business Development, former Marie Curie fellow at the University of Manchester, now at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He has worked at the Spanish start-up iSOCO, and, as part of the Business Development and Sales team, focused on early adopters of innovative technologies. He consulted for, among others, Vulcan, SAP, BT and HP.

Alan Jeffers, Advisor, is Chief Operating Officer for Utell & Unirez, part of Pegasus Solutions, providing technology and services for the majority of the world's travel companies and more than 60,000 hotel properties around the globe.

Stephen Rockman, Advisor, is the Managing Partner of Vivat Ventures and works with early stage and growth technology companies on strategy, funding and exits. Previously he held a number of executive positions with European IT companies.

Nigel Kershaw, Advisor, is Chief Executive of Big Issue Invest, a £3.5m social business loan fund founded by The Big Issue. Nigel is also Chairman of The Big Issue Co. Ltd.
